A Historic Downtown Building Restored

This extensive historical restoration and rehabilitation insured the long term viability this Waterloo icon while creating much needed affordable workforce housing in downtown Waterloo. A grand hotel built in 1914 and on the National Register of Historical Places, this eight-story building includes 90 affordable housing units on levels 2-8 leaving the ground level as retail, restaurant, lobby & office spaces. The grand 2 story lobby was restored while upper floor apartment units were renovated and reconfigured for marketability and usability. The exterior brick and stone work was restored, windows were refurbished, elevators modernized, and new efficient mechanical systems were installed.
